each one affirming the same thing

i am apart from the masses
a singular soul
different than the rest

i am interminably lonely,
it's the only emotion left
the resentment and envy have washed away long ago

the last one to go was hope
hope that if i change enough it would work
i would fit like a cog in a wheel
